Hi, my name is Jennifer Kannemeyer and I Au Paired in America for one year.

I returned home in June 2007 and it still feels as if I left the USA yesterday with my heart still with the family and friends that I made in America.  I spent my year with the Altstadt family in Cleveland Ohio.  I cared for two boys, Nathan and Jacob, and my host parents and extended family was wonderful people.  It was wonderful being a part of the Altstadt family, learning the American traditions and culture and there was never a dull moment with the boys.

I made the most wonderful friends that placed footprints in my heart forever.  I always say I can go anywhere in the world and I will have a home.  The memories we made was irreplaceable and my year away was the best time of my life.  I saw wonderful places like New York City which I think is one of the most wonderful places; I traveled with my family to the Niagara Falls in Canada, which is breathtaking.  I also visited friends in Chicago, had orientation for 4 days in Connecticut and visited Pennsylvania and Indiana.

The Au Pair Program is a safe and well organized program. If I can do it all over again, I would do it in a heartbeat.
